Luxury giants jostle and waver over Armani acquisition
The death of the Italian designer on 4 September 2025, at the age of 91, triggered what was a planned move to attract new investors to the Italian brand. In his will, Giorgio Armani identified three potential candidates: luxury giant LVMH, beauty group L'Oréal, which already markets Armani fragrances, and eyewear manufacturer EssilorLuxottica, which produces his glasses.
