In 2019, the Maybourne group subsidiary obtained planning permission in London's select Belgravia district on the proviso that it also invest in social housing. Five years on, however, the parent company has incorporated this affordable housing into another of its hotel projects instead, prompting Westminster City Council to open an inquiry.
