Cash-strapped department store chain struggles in absence of permanent boss

More than six months after the departure of its CEO, Printemps has still not found a permanent replacement. In the meantime, it has announced a drastic cost-cutting drive, which will involve the axing of 229 jobs. This despite its Qatari shareholder having reached deep into its pockets to pay off some of the company's debts.
