Luxury brands and art galleries are now omnipresent in Arles. Their arrival is in large part thanks to the Swiss heiress to the Hoffmann-Laroche pharmaceuticals group, who opened an arts and culture centre in the southern French city in 2021.

Next autumn, Moët Hennessy (LVMH) will return to Arles for the second instalment of its sustainable wine-growing event, the World Living Soils Forum. As per its 2022 iteration, the forum will be hosted by the LUMA Foundation and its president, Maja Hoffmann. The Swiss art collector has played a pivotal role in the luxury sector thriving today in the small French city, famous for its Roman ruins and annual photography festival, the Rencontres de la Photographie.
