France's proposed law curbing fast fashion was finally voted on in committee in the Senate on 19 March 2024. On the same day, the MP Olivia Grégoire made a speech in parliament criticising the unfair competition presented by major platforms such as Shein.
After her speech, Véronique Louwagie, who succeeded Grégoire at the small business ministry, said she would speed up the passing of the law, the final version of which will be voted on by senators on 10 June (Glitz, 20/02/25 and 16/05/24).
